A Sony prepara o lançamento de “The 1974 Live Recordings”, um enorme box set de 27 discos que apresenta todos os shows gravados profissionalmente de Bob Dylan e da turnê de 1974 da The Band. O conjunto oferece aos fãs 417 faixas ao vivo inéditas, incluindo 133 gravações recém-mixadas de fitas de 16 faixas e todas as gravações de mesa encontradas no arquivo do artista.
Em 1974, Dylan excursionou com a The Band e juntos realizaram 30 datas em 42 dias (muitas vezes tocando dois sets por dia) e as gravações foram capturadas em uma mixagem de mesa de som estéreo, em fita de quarto polegadas.
No final da turnê, David Geffen, da Asylum Records, havia encomendado gravações em fita multifaixa, para eventual lançamento em “Before the Flood”. O “Live Recordings” de 1974 inclui tudo isso e os shows que foram gravados em fita de 16 faixas foram recém-mixados especialmente para este box set, que vem com novas notas de capa de Elizabeth Nelson.
